NYC Accessible Subway Map

Map combines official station access and travel-time reach in one view. Switch between station classifications and a 30-, 45-, or 60-minute reach comparison. Live elevator status and Station accessibility are separate pages under More.

Travel-time reach on Map

Choose a starting station, address, or landmark, then compare the stations reachable with and without step-free constraints within 30, 45, or 60 minutes. The same map keeps your place and transit layers when switching views. Reach follows the transit graph, includes matched current elevator outages, and stops at stations; it does not verify every final street connection.

What the map shows

MinuteMap maps official subway and Staten Island Railway station accessibility classifications. It also shows commuter rail and ferry stops while keeping each mode's source and evidence distinct.

Why a marker is not a route guarantee

A station classification does not verify every entrance, platform, transfer, curb, or connecting sidewalk. A complete journey can also depend on direction-specific access and required elevators.

How current elevator conditions are used

An outage affects a route only when the available official identifiers connect that equipment to the required step-free path.

How to plan from the map

Open a station record, use its Start here or Go here link, compare the ordinary and accessibility-constrained journeys, and check Live Status again close to travel.

Subway accessibility by borough

These counts describe passenger station complexes in the official station inventory, including Staten Island Railway. They are static classifications, not the number of usable routes or working elevators. A complex with mixed platform access remains partial.

Major station accessibility pages

Review the station you will actually use. The A, C, E and 1, 2, 3 complexes at Penn Station have separate records; Grand Central subway access is separate from Metro-North boarding. A familiar terminal name does not establish a step-free transfer.

Verify access before traveling

Choose both endpoints, check direction-specific platform access, and review any required transfers. Then check current elevator outages and calculate the complete journey. An accessible classification does not independently verify the entrance, curb, street connection, or elevator condition at departure time.

Complete subway station index

Published station classifications are separate from current elevator conditions. Open a station record and check the complete journey before travel.
